    • IMMIGRATION: Valentin and family immigrated to Pennsylvania 5 Oct 1737 in the ship
      "Townshend" (register no. 5206). (One record says he emigrated in 1732). There were 231 Palatines on that ship, which sailed from Amsterdam. He moved very early to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA.

      NAME: Valentin, the immigrant, signed his name "Kieffer," so that is the spelling chosen. In German, Kieffer means "cooper."

      CHRISTENING: No record of Valentin's christening could be found in the church records of Blankenloch.
