Notes |
- There is a question as to whether this Christoph Hauer or another one born in the same area in 1701 is our ancestor. Our professional genealogist, Boyd Nielsen, feels that the 1702 Christoph Hauer is the ancestor of Jacob Strong. The reason for this is that a researcher in Germany who has done extensive research on the families in Blankenloch indicated that the 1702 Christoph and at least two of his siblings emigrated to America. It is not known what happened to the 1701 Christoph Hauer. We are aware that In the past our family genealogists have followed the 1701 Christoph Hauer. It is impossible at this time to tell with certainty which Christoph is ours, but our educated guess is that it is the 1702 Christoph, and therefore that is the line we are following. Both Christophs are sealed to Eva Müller. It is evident from the IGI ( as of 4/2009) that someone is doing very solid and careful research on the 1701 Christoph Hauer. We are going to keep an eye on this to be certain that family groups are being completed on this line and that the ordinance work is being done. At some future time, if needed, we may decide, as a Strong Family, to complete the work on his line as well. (There is some indication that the two Christophs may be related).
EMIGRATION: Christoph and his family immigrated to Pennsylvania 3 April 1751 on the ship "Brothers".
RESIDENCE: At the time of the marriage of his son, Sebastian, to Anna Maria Hauer, Christoph is listed as living in "Earlstown"
