This notes a birth date of 7 May 1742. It is presumed that this was extrapolated from his age at death.
BIRTH: His age at death would indicate a birthdate of May 1742, if it is accurate. However, it is presumed by the Barkley family that Hans Jacob Berkel arrived in Philadelphia on the ship, "Pink Lady," on 29 September 1733, from Rotterdam, where a baby, "Hans Jacob Berkel" is listed as being 9 months of age. This would make him some ten years older, with a birth date in 1732.
