Oregonian, The (Portland, OR) - September 12, 2003 Deceased Name: Vergil Hilmert Thelander A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, in Molalla Conservative Baptist Church for Vergil Hilmert Thelander, who died Sept. 9 at age 82. Mr. Thelander was born Feb. 28, 1921, in Arcadia, Neb. During World War II, he served in the Army. He lived in Walnut Creek and Richmond, Calif., before moving to Molalla in 1965. He was a baker for the Safeway bread plant in Clackamas and a farmer in Molalla. In 1947, he married Odeane Looney. Survivors include his wife; daughter, Judith Charmin; son, Jerome; brother, Arnold; sister, Shirley Langford; and three grandchildren. Remembrances to the church.
