First to talk about Cora. Yes, the Cora B. on the head stone is the same Cora Mable Wilson which is William and Edith's daughter. I don't have Cora's death certificate and should probably send for it. All I have is a little obituary that came out in the Fremont Tribune, Fremont, NE, Oct 2, 1954, page 2, column 8
Funeral rites for Miss Cora Wilson of Camarillo, Calif., formerly of Fremont, were held Saturday in the chapel of the Fred Bader Funeral Home. The Rev. LaMoine Waldron officiated.
Mrs. Carl L. Byorth, accompanied by Mavin Schou, sang "Beyond the Sunset." Relatives were pallbearers. Interment was in Ridge Cemetery.
This doesn't tell us much except that she must have went home with relation to California after William died. I know that Charles, her brother, lived in California when Edith died and also Edith had a couple of brothers that lived in California. It also tells us she was brought back to Fremont to be buried. About the B. for a middle name (on the stone) I don't really know. I took her middle name from 1900 census when she was listed as Mable, 14, born June 1885. This is also where I got the year and I know they aren't always correct but the 1910 census gave her age as 25 and both are closer to 1885 than 1883. I don't have any idea who did the stone but all of her closest family were gone by then. I have wondered if the B. was for Bell/Mabel, which is all guess work of course. Now that I see the 1885 Nebraska state census (which I hadn't seen before) I feel even more sure about the 1885 being correct.
