OBITUARY FOR GEORGE CARROLL
Native son of Cowlitz County dies
Daily News, October 25, 1935
George Carroll Dies at Age of 60 years and at Exactly One Year After His
Son's Death.
George Carroll, 60, a native son of Cowlitz county, died at his farm home
two miles southeast of Kelso this morning, exactly one year following the
death of his son, George, Jr.
The elder Carroll expired following an extended illness which had confined
him to his home for sometime. The son died following a major operation a
year ago to the day.
Carroll was born in Ostrander and had resided within the bounds of the county continuously since.
Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Edna Carroll, two sons, Floyd and Archie, and
11 grandchildren and three brothers, James and John of Kelso and Hugh of Carrolls Point.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of the Nat R. Smith funeral home with interment in the Longview Memorial park. Rev H. F. Ritz of the Central Christian church will officiate.
