Obituary for Walter: Walter Jennings 86, Ninth Ave SW, died early Friday (Nov 10, 1972) at the Happy Siesta retirement home at Remsen after an illness of several months. A retired laborer, Mr. Jennings was a lifelong resident of Le Mars. Funeral services will be Monday, Nov 13, at 1:30 P.M. at the church of Nazarene, Le Mars, with Rev. Brandt Freeburg officiating. Burial will be in the LeMars Memorial cemetery under the directions of the Mauer funeral home, LeMars. Mr. Jennings was born Aug. 31, 1886 in LeMars, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Jennings. He and Esther A. Taylor were married Jan 28, 1914 in LeMars. Mr. Jennings was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. He was preceded in death by his wife on Jan 7, 1971, his parents, two infant daughters and a son, Donald. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs Paul (Leona) Strong of Sioux City; three sons, Charles and Robert of LeMars and Walter of Sedalia, MO; a brother Roy of LeMars, 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
