Ben S. Prather
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in Mollalla for Ben S. Prather, 80 year old resident of the Oak Lawn district who died Thursday morning at his home following a several months illness. Interment was at the Miller cemetery near Silverton.
Mr. Prather was born in Iowa April 20, 1878 and came to Oregon when he was 2 years old. He had lived in the Oak Lawn district most of his lifetime, the last 52 years in the same house. He was a retired farmer. His wife, the former Emma Johnson whom he married in Kalama, Washington, November 24, 1906 died in February.
Survivors include two sons, Cleo Prather of Carson, Washington and Roland Prather of Woodburn Route 2, sister Mrs. Effie Hartman of Canby; brother Glenn Prather of Woodburn Route 2: three grandchildren and three great grandchildren
