PHOEBE KATHERINE HOOVER Phoebe Katherine Hoover, 82, of 1254 Monmouth St., Independence, died Aug. 22 at her home. She was born June 19, 1899, in Wayzata, Minn. She had lived in Independence since 1919, moving here from Minnesota. Her husband, Samuel J. Hoover, died in 1952. Survivors are two sons, Robert Patton, Salem, and Floyd Patton, Roseburg; three daughters, Helen Davis, Salem, Lora Bridges, Springfield, and Orrel Clinton, Independence. 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held Aug. 25 in the Belcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Salem. Vault interment followed. Farnstrom-Parmenter Mortuary, Independence, was in charge of arrangements.
