    Jacob and Sarah were married in Strongstown, Indiana County, PA where they joined the Mormon church. They moved to Nauvoo in 1840. In 1846 they emigrated west with the Mormon pioneers in the Silas Richards Company to Salt Lake.

    • ORDINANCES: Jacob was rebaptized on 2 Jun 1849 and 2 June 1850. Sealing to parents also listed as 15 Sep 1927 SLAKE.

      ORDINANCE WORK: Jacob was baptized in the Mississippi River in 1841 for two cousins who cannot be identified with surety: "Elizabeth Keeth (Kuffer) and John Keeth (Kuffer)." Source: Nauvoo Baptismal Records of the Dead, Book A94.
      He was also baptized for Grandfather Shults, Barbary Kitch (an aunt), Grandfather Howard, Henry Shults (brother-in-law), Francis Strong (an uncle) Philip Strong (an uncle), and Sarah Strong (his sister)

      PRIESTHOOD: Jacob was a seventy when he received his endowments, according to the Nauvoo Temple Records. According the NAUVOO: EARLY MORMON...SERIES 1839-1846 by Lyman Platt, Copyright 1913, he was a member of the Nauvoo 2nd Ward. He served in the Twenty-ninth Quorum of the Seventy.

      NAUVOO PROPERTY: Jacob owned a lot in Nauvoo on Block 30, Lot 2. He owned as well 10 acres at T7 R8 Sec 32 NW/4. He was a member of the Nauvoo 2nd Ward. This information was acquired by family members visiting Old Nauvoo. He emigrated to Utah with the Silas Richard Company in October 1849.

      OCCUPATION: Laborer in 1850, according to the Utah Federal Census; Year: 1851. The same source states he had a household of four and a real wealth of $200. According to the Utah Federal Census of 1870, he had a household of
      seven and a real wealth of $500 and a personal wealth of $100.

      SECOND ANOINTING: James T. Strong stood in as proxy in the Salt Lake Temple on 14 February 1905 as this was completed. John Winder officiated. Recorded in the Personal Family Record of James T. Strong.

      PATRIARCHAL BLESSING: Given 15 June 1852 in Salt Lake City by Patriarch John Smith. Recorded in Patriarchal Blessings, Vol. 12, page 152, No. 356.

      BURIAL: Plot F, Block 11, Lot 14.

      HISTORY: Moved 1819-1820 to Indiana County.
      9 Sept 1839 moved to Nauvoo, arriving 18 March 1840
      8 May 1846 left Nauvoo
      October 1849 arrived in Utah. Eventually lived in the 10th Ward on 8th East and the corner of 4th South.
