Permission for this sealing was given by Pres. Robert D. Young, of the Salt Lake Temple. Patron's sheet with his OK and correspondence is said to be on file in the Index Office of the Genealogical Society. Bud and Judy have not been able to verify this.

RESIDENCE: Michael migrated with his family to Buffington Twp., Indiana Co., Pennsylvania when he was 16. From an old history of Indiana County, published in 1880, he entered the land in Buffington Twp. and walked to Harrisburg to get the patent for it in 1817. He lived there with his wife and children until his death.

OCCUPATION: Farmer.

ORDINANCES: Jacob Strong performed a proxy baptism for "Sarah Strong", his sister, in the Mississippi River in "1840." Source: Nauvoo Baptisimal Records of the Dead, Book A146.

The McCague's and Jacob Strong were very close, according to Frances Strong Helman, a family genealogist from Indiana County, Pennsylvania.

According to Francis Strong Helman, the McCague family, joined the church or at least were sympathetic to it. Her father heard her grandfather, Daniel C. Strong state that this was so.

BAPTISM-ENDOWMENT-SEALING TO PARENTS: When William was baptized by proxy on 8 May 1969 in the Salt Lake Temple, all previous Church Blessings and confirmation ordinances were reconfirmed and ratified as well. The source for this is the Index Card to Nauvoo Supplemental Temple Records noted in the sources for William's ordinances. Also sealed to parents on 26 July 1862 EHOUS and Feb 1986 PROVO. William was originally baptized by Joseph Smith in the MIssissippi River at age 15. This is recorded in the Biographical Encyclopedia in the Church Historian's Office, p. 88.

Pension Records for Military Service, National Archives, for service in the Mormon Battalion in the Mexican War.

MISCELLANEOUS: Arrived in Salt Lake from California (after service with the Mormon Battalion as a Private in Company "E") in fall of 1848. In the summer of 1849 with a team he went east to meet the family and then assisted them in the balance of their journey to Salt Lake.

BIRTH DATE: A professional researcher stated that apparently Elizabeth C. Swaner did not know her own birthdate, which was not unusual, as the family immigrated to the United States and may have left birth records behind, or they may not have celebrated birthdays as is now common, so the actual date may have been confused.
SECOND ANOINTING: James T. and Elizabeth C. Strong received their second annointings on 17 February1905 through Bishop John Winder as recorded in the Personal Record of James T. Strong, p. 29.

Whereas, The deceased was a member in good standing in our local, Teamsters Union, a good citizen, upright, industrious worker for union causes and having the good will of all who knew him; therefore, be it
Resolved, That the sudden band of death has cut down a life that was full of kindness to his fellow brothers, and the removal of Brother H. A. Turner from our midst have the tendency to bind us as union men, closer to one another; and, be it further
Resolved, that we extend to the family of our departed Brother our heartfelt simpathy in the hour of their sorrow and bereavement; and, be it further
Resolved, That our charter be draped in mourning for a peirod [sp] of thirty days; that a copy of these resolutions be presented to the grief-stricken family as a mark to esteem and respect for our departed brother, and that a copy be sent to the official journal for publication.

We, your committee on resolutions of respect, on the death of Neighbor Edward H. Turner, beg leave to report as follows:
Whereas In the death of Neighbor Turner, his widow and children are bereft of a kind and loving husband and father, the Woodmen of the World a true Neighbor, and the community at large a good citizen, and
Whereas We, the members of the Woodmen of the World manifest a most sincere interest in the welfare of our members, rejoicing in their happiness, and sympathizing with them in their sorrows,
Therefore
Be It Resolved That we, the members of Silverton camp No. 280 Woodmen of the World, most sincerely deplore the loss of our neighbor, and extend to the bereaved family our heartfelt and sincere sympathy in this their sad hour of affliction, and
Be It Further Resolved that the charter of our camp be draped for thirty days, and that a copy of these resolutions be spread upon the minutes of the camp, and a copy sent to the sorrowing family and local papers.
