259 BIRTHDATE: The church records actually indicate a birthdate of "June 7 or 17, 1813" and a baptism of "May 30, 1813." This is not possible. Therefore it is assumed that the recorder made an error on the birth year and our researcher chose "June 7, 1812." Adam Emenheiser

MARRIAGE: JANICE SLY, A DESCENDANT OF PETER BLOUSE, STATED THAT HER FAMILY RECORDS INDICATE THAT THE WIFE OF PETER BLOUSE WAS "SARAH E. WARNER." PRESUMING THAT WE ARE CORRECT THAT SARAH ELIZABETH EMENHEISER WAS THE WIFE OF PETER BLOUSE, IS IT POSSIBLE THAT SHE WAS FIRST MARRIED TO A WARNER PRIOR TO HER MARRIAGE TO PETER BLOUSE? DEATH: An IGI source notes a death date of 11 Nov 1868.

PARENTAGE: Some sources list Abraham as a child of Jacob Imenhauser (a brother of Johannes). It is felt by the Strong family that he belongs to Johannes for three reasons: 1) In the1800 Census (cited in Individual Sources for Abraham) this family includes a male child under age 10. 2) When Jacob Imenhauser died, all of his living children were listed. Abraham, who died many years after Jacob was not mentioned. 3) He was also not mentioned as a child of Jacob's (through either of his wives) in the book "Evidences of the Emenheiser Families of York County before the year of 1850".(FHL book: Q [Large Book stacks] 974.841, D28g, v. 26, pt. 1.) Many (but not all) of Jacob's other children were included in this source. Abraham has been sealed to both Johannes Immenheiser and Ann Margaret and to Jacob Emenheiser and Christina Druck.

Young, York County Pennsylvania in the American Revolution: a Source Book [MS], Black Series, 566; Pennsylvania Archives, 6th Series, II-607), also (MS Archives Division: Young, op. cit. Black Series, 569; Pennsylvania Archives, 6th Series, II-486). He was still with this unit when in 1780 it became the Sixth Company (Pennsylvania Archives, 6th Series, II-439, 443).

288  Alice Fish

289 DEATH: One IGI v5.0 source lists death date as 2 Sept 1879. Alice Fish

290 NAME: According to Jay Strong, a descendant of Alice Fish, the parish register where Alice's birth and christening is noted lists her name as "Alice Fish" with mother "Jane Fish", and no father shown. Alice's mother, Jane Fish, married Edmund Bury 6 years after Alice's birth. There is no evidence that Alice assumed her step-father's name of "Bury." At the time of her marriage to William Walsh, the British Vital Records lists her maiden name as "Alice Fish." The temple worker listed "Berry" (Wilch) as her name on her endowment card as noted in the sources and below. This information was presumably given by Alice. However, she was sealed to William Walsh as "Alice Fish."

Alice gives her father's name as "John Stark Berry" and her mother's name as "Jane" on the date of her sealing for eternity to William Walsh and marriage for time to Jacob Strong in the Endowment House. She was, however, sealed as Alice Fish. The source for this is the Temple Records Index Bureau, Endowment House Records, No. 2911, Book B, pg. 119.

BIRTHDATE: Alice's birthdate is listed as both "11 April 1831" and the "16 April 1831" in the Endowment House Records cited under !NAME. It is presumed this information was given by her and recorded by a temple worker. Family records, however, note her birthdate as 16 April 1829.

SEALING TO PARENTS: According to Harriet Strong Speirs (as noted on a group sheet she prepared for William Walsh and Alice Fish), Alice Strong Egbert, a granddaughter of Alice Fish Bury Walsh through her son, William Jacob Strong, told Harriet that her grandmother, Alice Fish Walsh Strong had her mother, Jane, sealed to Edmund Bury.

ORDINANCES: The family group record prepared by John Anderegg, professional researcher, notes her baptismal date as "3 Nov 1805." This would not be possible as she was not yet born. Proxy ordinances were performed for Alice in the Provo Temple on the following dates: Baptism--10 Oct 1978; Endowment--8 Dec 1978. The source is IGI v5.0, from extracted birth and christening records submitted for temple ordinances. Precise details on the source are listed under "sources" for Alice's birth/christening.

James Fish

294 In the past, this James Fish, married to Jane Thompson, was identified as the son of Benjamin Fish (b. 1727) and Ann Walsh (b. 1727). Further research has indicated that this cannot be. Benjamin Fish's will was found in the Episcopal Consistory Court of Chester, Family History Library Film 088914. The following was noted:

Will of Benjamin Fish of Over Darwen in the Parish of Blackburn, cotton carder.
Bequests:

299 According to the records of the Lower Independent Chapel, Over Darwen, Lancashire, England, she was born January 20, 1805 and baptized June 20, 1808. Since this record is a primary source and provides direct evidence of Jane's birth, the year 1805 would usually be accepted as being correct. However, since her older brother Thomas was born November 1, 1804, only a little over 2 months before Jane was born, the year 1806 has been deemed the probable year of her birth and has been used in this compilation. Additional evidence that Jane was not born in 1805 is provided by the ages given in the census records of Over Darwen as follows: 1841 age 35 (born 1806, but ages are usually rounded to the nearest 5 in 1841; 1851 age 44 (born 1807); 1861 age 53 (born 1808); 1871 age 64 (born 1807). Jane Fish

300 BIRTH: A Family group sheet in possession of William Egbert that was prepared by John Anderegg, professional researcher, indicates a birth year of 1805. As that would be impossible because of the birthdate of the next older sibling, I chose to enter 1806,as that date appears in other family records.

ENDOWMENT: 28 Aug 2004, Seattle Temple, IGI v5.0, from record submitted after 1991 to request LDS temple ordinances.

DEATH: Husband, Edmund, is listed as a widower on the 1881 British Census.
